Tonight – Special #LATISM Twitter Party: Healthy Living 2012 with @Univision!

It’s the second week of the New Year… and already most of those supposedly-set-in-stone New Year Resolutions have gone out the door [getting up at 5 am to exercise? As if!]. Well, this year, we’d like to make sure you actually make at least ONE of those resolutions come true: the resolution to take care of your health and that of your family.

It’s not secret that obesity in the Hispanic/Latino community has reached epidemic levels. The latest statistics from 2009, show that Hispanic Americans were 1.2 times as likely to be obese than Non-Hispanic Whites.

Is there a culprit? Can anything be done to avoid being part of these statistics? How do YOU make sure your family is healthy and fit?

Let’s find out tonight, at a very special LATISM Twitter party! We’ll be joined by our friends at Univision, who are launching an  exciting, new, inspiring weight-loss reality show focusing on just this topic. The show, called “Dale Con Ganas”, is an exciting and emotional contest filled with heart-racing challenges, celebrity guests, and weekly surprises. Four families will take their bodies to the max for the opportunity to win a grand prize of $100,000… plus it promises to be loads of fun!

So join us at 9:45 pm EST as we watch the premiere of the show. We’ll be sharing some post from some of our top Latin@ bloggers, so come to exchange healthy goals and tips on keeping our familia sana this 2012!

Disclaimer: This party is sponsored by Univision. LATISM is a non-profit organization. The generous support of our sponsors and partners helps LATISM organize and fund our scholarships, educational events, conferences and other programs throughout the year.
