Uzinggo® Digital Learning Aid Improves Struggling Students’ Grades Students earn rewards by completing lessons and assessments;
parents monitor progress with easy-to-read reports SCOTTSDALE, AZ – A recent study by Harvard University’s Program on Education
Policy and Governance showed that students in eleven countries are making academic gains at 2-3 times the rate of American students. In the study, American students ranked 25th in math, and 17th in science, reaffirming what many people already agree on – we need to do more to help our children improve their academic performance. Uzinggo, created by Adaptive Curriculum for in-home use to improve student’s performance in math and science, is a new online-based learning system that combines leading education
techniques, interactive game-like graphics, and motivational tools to help students improve comprehension and test scores.
Much more engaging than a textbook, Uzinggo helps students struggling to excel in certain subject areas learn through online lessons that mimic a real-world experience. Essentially a high-tech version of a tutor, Uzinggo is available for students in grades 5-12
with study plans, or ZingPaths™, in subjectsranging from Pre-Algebra to Physics.
Students are guided through a ZingPath™ on a chosen subject with audio prompts and robust interactive models. After receiving guided instruction on the subject matter and completing an activity, students are rewarded with points and badges. They can earn more points by completing an assessment and performing well on the questions. Activities and assessments can be repeated as many times as needed until the student fully comprehends the subject matter.
Students are motivated to succeed when using Uzinggo in a variety of ways that cannot be found in a traditional classroom environment. Earning points enables students to build an avatar, create their own online room or even enter themselves for a chance to win gift cards by bidding on prizes. Viewing their score ranking on the leader board and earning various badges furthers their motivation.
Parental involvement is an integral part of the Uzinggo learning experience. Through their online account, parents choose the subject for which their child needs extra support. Parents can log into their account at any time to view their child’s progress through the lessons, how much time the child has spent on activities, if the child completed assessments and how the child performed on the assessments. There are also additional assessments and answer keys available through the parents’ portal that they can print out to use offline with their child to further enhance the learning experience.
Designed by classroom technology company, Adaptive Curriculum, Uzinggo was modeled after the company’s successful international curriculum. The curriculum was adapted for Uzinggo to inspire and motivate students, and allow parents to easily bring engaging learning into the home. Much more than a simple computer game, Uzinggo is built on a foundation of extensively researched educational standards. The 5E Instructional Model – Engage, Explore, Explain, Elaborate and Evaluate – is built into each of Uzinggo’s ZingPaths™.
Uzinggo is available for middle school and high school students. Parents can purchase a monthly or annual subscription for middle school math, middle school science, high school math or high school science. Combination packages for math and science,
preparatory packages and review packages are also available. Pricing begins at $9.95 per month per student, with annual subscriptions offering up to a 25% discount. Additionally, over 80% of the Uzinggo lesson plans are available in Spanish. For more information visit www.uzinggo.com.
