Unemployment Can Get Worse by Next Year

The Economic Policy Institute estimates that if Congress fails to act before the New Year, employment will loss an estimate of 1.6 million jobs by the end of 2013. This is because of the expiration of the payroll tax cut, emergency unemployment insurance and other similar things.

Another 1.3 millions jobs will be lost, from education to health care to housing.

Latinos have a rate of 10 percent of unemployment. This unemployment doesn’t only concern the Latinos, but America as well. By the year 2050, about 30  percent of the workforce will be Latinos, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.
