Last night, Latism partnered with MomsRising.org and Center for the Children of Immigrants in an important discussion.
The unaccompanied children fleeing violence in their home countries and staying in facilities in the U.S. is a controversial topic that we can’t ignore. This was a very heart warming chat and very informative.
Children are crossing the border and seeking refugee in the United States because they are being abused and in danger of dying in their native countries. Their challenges, as it became evident that these children seek a safe place and it is not just an immigration issue. There is an alarming 90,000 unaccompanied children in U.S. detention centers. Everyone was passionate about the issue and proposed great ideas on how to help these children
