Zipmark, the company that created “digital checks”, is now offering a new way for renters to pay their bills over the phone.
The new app will allow a service provider to send the bill with a QR code attached.
To pay the bill, renters can either send in a paper check or scan the code with their smartphone, and pay through their checking account attached to their phone.
After one use, the phone will notify residents when they have an invoice, allowing them to set up automatic bill – paying if their service provider has set up an online account with Zipmark.
As GigaOM explained, property managers may find this more appealing since they will receive funds quicker than if received by check, and don’t need to worry about a check bouncing.
For tenants, this offers a new level of convenience since rent can be paid from anywhere.
