Staying Employed in a Tech-Centered World


In a world that is increasingly dependent on technology, staying current, relevant and employed isn’t always easy or intuitive. Even not-tech jobs are being affected and many people react to this in ways that won’t help them in the long run.

Dr. Tracey Wilen-Daugenti, a frequent writer on the subject of technology in the workplace recently published an excellent piece on the Huffington Post website that has a number of useful tips for those who have concerns about how technology might affect their jobs.

Dr. Wilen-Daugenti is a prominent thought leader on the impact of technology on society, work and education.

She is a visiting scholar at Stanford University Media X and aformer Silicon Valley executive who held leadership positions at Apple, HP, Cisco Systems and the Apollo Group.

The author of 10 books, Dr. Wilen-Daugenti catalyzes new thinking among business leaders and academics. For her latest book, Women Lead: Career Perspectives from Workplace Leaders (March 2013), she served as principal researcher, examining women’s contributions to the workplace and the economy.
