St. Baldrick’s Foundation is dedicated to raising money for childhood cancer research through shaving heads events. Bridget Brevik a 31-year-old mother of two shaved her hair off to raise money for childhood cancer research. She raised $2,000 for the cause along with 16 other people who volunteered at St. Baldrick’s Foundation head-shaving event. This event alone raised $5,500 for research.
Bridget said “What I’ve been telling people is that I’d rather lose my hair so that someone else doesn’t lose their kid,”.
Each of the volunteers had their own story to tell but each agreed on one thing that cancers were horrible especially on children. Justin Feickert and his 7 year old daughter, Jaydyn spoke about cancer. Jaydyn had been diagnosed with Leukemia when she was fourteen months old and she is a cancer survivor!
Brian Krumvieda, 30 shaved of his hair after a close friend passed away from cancer.
All of these volunteers raised money for research and what they got rid of was hair, which grows back. Losing a child or a friend is something you can’t replace
Would you shave off your hair to raise money for cancer research?
