We all know that too much carbon dioxide in the air leads to pollution and global warming. For a long time, the focus was on finding ways to cut down on CO2 emissions, but now Peter Eisenberger, a distinguished professor of earth and environmental sciences at Columbia University, has a new idea. He decided to find a way to remove CO2 from the atmosphere and then went on to find a market for the CO2 and started a company to make it all happen.
There are critics who still feel that reducing emissions is the key to slowing or stopping global warming, but you have to admit that this technology sounds pretty cool. It remains to be seen whether it will translate to a large-scale industry that will be helpful in fighting global warming, but you have to give Dr. Eisneberger credit for trying. After all, that’s what Edison, Einstein, and Zuckerberg did and at the time, people said they were all wasting their time.
