Pills Tracked From Doctor to Patient to Aid Drug Marketing


Drug companies use consumer information to see which drugs are frequently prescribed by doctors.  How much privacy do patient’s have anymore?  Thanks to vast databases of patient and doctor information being used by pharmaceutical companies to market drugs. This information allows drug makers to know which drugs a doctor is prescribing and how that compares to a colleague across town.

These pharmaceutical companies what prescription patients need and how often they are filling their prescriptions.  Is this too much shared information?

They know details of patients’ medical conditions and lab tests, and sometimes even their age, income and ethnic backgrounds.  Drug makers say they are putting the information to good use, by helping a doctor improve the chances that their patients take their medications as prescribed, or making sure they are prescribing the right drug to the right patients.

    That post are good and informative like as to they are little closer to understanding the root causes of why military suicide is rising so fast. profit is a sum greater than the earnings of the most profitable companies and roughly equal to the combined net income of the four largest.
