Incorporating exercise in our daily routines could be the difference between living a healthy life and a non healthy life.
Half of all US adults do not engage in sufficient leisure-time physical activity outside of their work (based on data from the 2011 Behavioural Risk Factor Surveillance System-BRFSS) and about 25% of US citizens are not physically active at all.
The US Surgeon General’s report, for instance, had concluded that physical activity is protective of many of the risk factors for heart disease, such as obesity, high blood pressure, and a rapid pulse, as well as reducing the incidence of associated morbidities such as Type 2 diabetes, angina, heart attack, and stroke.
It is important that people include physical activity early in their lives to avoid diseases later on in life.
