Online Education Expands

Over the last few months, dozens of universities have joined and started working with MOOC providers to offer free online courses. MOOC founded by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard, is expecting to announce plans to bring a comouter science course to two Massachusetts community college next spring. The Jack Welch Management Institute plans to announce that they will offer online courses for it degree and certification programs.

EdX, Udacity and Coursera are most associated with MOOC’s but they are not the only providers. President of MOOC, Catherine Hills says, “We’re seeing a huge proliferation in models of online teaching and learning, but I don’t think we know yet about the quality implications or the cost implication.”
