In every one of five of the city’s startups is founded by a woman.
According to Scott Stringer, Manhattan Borough President, many of the residents from the city are being left out in most of the activities.
In the work field like business, science and arts, 54 percent of employees are white, 29 percents are blacks and 20 percent are Latinos.
President Scott told the Daily News, “The entrepreneurial economy is bursting at the seams, we are leaving out half of New York City.”
A report called “Start-Up City: Growing the Entrepreneurial Ecosystem for All,” stated that their is a absence of talent. This won’t fill up the tech positions that are available. Most of these positions have a salary starting at $65,000.
President Scott is running for city controller. Scott wants the Education Department to expand its computer science curriculum.
