Catholic Educators Push Immigration Bill

reformCatholic colleges and Universities are supporting the immigration bill.  The presidents of 93 Catholic colleges and universities have sent a letter to the House speaker, John A. Boehner, and the minority leader, Nancy Pelosi, urging them to pass a comprehensive immigration bill that includes a path to citizenship for undocumented immigrants.

The involvement of the college’s presidents is new  and this is a great start for educators to be involved in this process.  On Thursday that they plan to personally call their members of Congress and will hold events with local church leaders to get Catholic lay people to pressure their representatives to pass a bill.

The bigger involvement of school officials in the immigration reform the more attention will be placed on the issue.  Dreamers
