Why do businesses support the immigration reform?
Tony Podesta a veteran lobbyist said “I think the immigration groups, high-tech community, there are lots of interests that are implicated, the agriculture industry, lots of concerns and interests that will matter a lot to people, to companies that rely a lot on Indian technology consulting companies.” Tech companies are the most interested and the primary drivers in this immigration reform.
One of the problems with this immigration reform is the lack of high skilled workers. “If we do not have a longer-term solution to the shortage of high-skilled STEM workers by developing that domestic pipeline, we are going to be back at this” says James Brett, head of The New England Council.
