Announcing The Winners From Latism/Blogher Fundraiser

As you already know, we picked five people [via votes from the scholarship committee] to come to BlogHer with us with a scholarship, in addition to six previous recipients who are part of the Organizing team.

We then held our Latism “No Bloguera Left Behind” Fundraiser Twitter Party and thanks to the amazing generosity of our Latinos in Social Media [happy to report!] were able to raise [DRUMROLL, PLEASE!]

You guys are an amazing community, we are so blessed!

As promised, after our fundraising party, we went down our roster of applicants to the scholarship, in the order of most votes received. Since we didn’t quite reach our fundraising goals, we won’t be able to offer the full scholarship to the applicants who are next in line in terms of votes.

However, because we want as many blogueras as possible to enjoy BlogHer’s learning, sharing and networking opportunities, we’re doing the next best thing: We offered three of the candidates in the roster Full Conference Passes BlogHer10!

Here are the LUCKY THREE:

– Reina Valenzuela [@soylamar]
– Laura Tellado [@Laurita86]
– Ofelia Almedina [
@OfeliaNJ]

Congratulations, Reina, Laura and Ofelia – We can’t wait to hug you at BlogHer10!!

LATISM is proud to confirm that a grand total of 14 Mujeres will be able to attend BlogHer10 through our scholarship program.

This is all thanks to the generosity of our tight community of Latinos in Social Media together with the support from our sponsors: Hispanic Information & Telecommunications Network, Inc (HITN), Hispanic Technology and Telecommunications Partnership (HTTP), Mobile Test Kitchen, Premier Social Media, Speak Hispanic Communications and the 32 individual donors who put their granito de arena to make this happen.

To our always-amazingly-supportive LATISM community, much love!

We’ll be live tweeting from the BlogHer Social Fiesta this Thursday, so you won’t miss a peep!
