After years of organizing, mobilizing and debating all things immigration reform, immigrants in the country are finally getting the prime time. This week, not one but TWO of the branches of government stepped up with proactive versions of a plan for Comprehensive Immigration Reform. Very fitting, as it’s very clear that the Latino Vote is no longer going to sit around and be ignored.
The new developments bring with them tons of questions, as details for implementation of both the Senate plan and President Obama’s Plan have yet to be hashed out in a way that explains possible consequences for the 11 million+ undocumented immigrants waiting in the wings.
So tonight on LATISM, we’re bringing in leaders from some of the top Latino advocacy organizations to answer your questions about the new proposals, and to share ways in which we can ALL push to finally make Immigration Reform happen once and for all!
