11/11 #Latism Twitter party: Latino Musical Legacy!

Very few things unite the Latino world as music, a recurring theme that is definitely central to our cultural life. Music embodies our knowledge, our meaning, and spirit: the very essence of the lifestyle filled with chispa in which Latinos can feel genuinely themselves.

The scope of music originating from Latinos in the U.S. defies traditional labels—and stereotypes. From norteño to reggaeton, lively mariachi and flavorful Salsa to the rhythms of our indigenous people, our music represents our longstanding Latin American traditions and the influence our community has in the United States.

So please, join us tonight on #LATISM for a celebration of rhythm, unstoppable creativity and SABOR LATINO!

– What contributions have Latinos made to America’s present music, and the music industry?

– How does our music typifies our American experience?

– What is the future of Latinos in music from the perspective of those who remain behind the scenes—industry executives?

– And, with so many genres and sub-genres that represent our rich and complex ethnic background, how in the world can we truly define what Latin music is?

What better time to celebrate and share the richness of this legacy than on Latin Grammys night!

The Latin Grammys broadcast on Univision starts a bit early [at 8 pm EST] but we wouldn’t miss it for the world! So if you’re watching the show, please come tweet with us!

Then stay for our regular #LATISM party at 9 pm and get epic tweets with a side of Salsa from the largest, most fun Twibe of Latinos on Twitter: LATISM!

  • Have fun!
